Papua
A quick cruise overnight, we arrive at a very playful left-hander, usually breaking mellow over crystal clear waters. Always a guests’ favourite, there are also opportunities for SUP-ing and tropical white beaches around.
Papua
Dropping the anchor in the morning, this spot often gets the biggest swells as it’s fully exposed to the swell. The wave can be a bit shifty and water is generally moving here, however, some epic rides can be had and the local village makes for a scenic backdrop, bird watching excursion or just a visit of the friendly locals.
Papua
Our next spot offers a very good anchorage with easy access to a great left-hander breaking over three sections as well as an easy right-hander, across the channel, ideal for beginner surfers. If you time it right, celebrate the New Year with the local village folks and their parade. At any time of the year, enjoy the pristine beach, wakeboard, swim or go for a fishing mission - or another surf.

Which spot we surf again depends on the conditions, swell directions and most importantly guests' preferences.

Bacan
Spend the next days in the south of Halmahera. Here, two large pinnacles break the surface and are excellent dive sites due to the amount of schooling fish as well as the healthy state of the soft corals. Black tips, white tips, turtles and Napoleon wrasse are some of the highlights. Strong currents will dictate our dive schedule.
Other sites offer great opportunities as well such as Procco Channel, Island and Pinnacle. We go ashore to explore the forested slopes where Wallace made some of his greatest zoological discoveries, including the Moluccan Cuscus, the Standardwing Bird of Paradise, the world's largest bee Megachile pluto, and the huge and magnificent Golden Birdwing Butterfly. Wallace described the latter species as the "finest butterfly in the world". Also keep a close watch for parrots, cockatoos, lorikeets, hornbills, the elusive cuscus and the endangered black macaque – the only monkey in Maluku.
